Use fragrance only through the accessory and products approved for the installed steam system. MrSteam's cited AromaSteam head instructions put its approved essential oil in the cool head recess before operation. Its separate metering pump uses specified fragrances and has different compatibility limits. Do not add oils to a hot head, the generator's water supply or an unidentified dispenser.
Identify the accessory before choosing a fragrance
A steamhead recess and a fragrance-metering pump are different accessories. Read the generator, head and accessory labels, and obtain their matching instructions. The word AromaSteam on a bottle or an online listing does not make every product interchangeable.
The Steam@Home owner guide, for its SAH3000, SAH4500 and SAH6000 systems, describes MrSteam AromaSteam essential oils in the designated head recess. The separate AromaSteam metering-pump guide, part MSAROMA 104496, specifies its MSOIL1-5 fragrances. Do not substitute an arbitrary essential oil into that pump or copy its fragrance routine onto a different device.
A head recess must be cool before preparation
The cited Steam@Home directions say to use the approved essential oil in an unheated AromaSteam head recess before turning on the steam bath. They warn against adding drops to a hot head or during steam bathing because the head and emerging steam can cause injury.
Follow the actual head's product and quantity instructions rather than treating this as a universal recipe. The current AromaSteam head installation sheet also warns about direct exposure to its hot emission zone. Do not reach through flowing steam, loosen the head or move it toward a seat. If you cannot identify a suitable approved recess, ask the manufacturer before adding anything.
The pump has its own product and room restrictions
The metering-pump manual limits its fragrance products to the named dispensing equipment and states residential and day-spa scope. It also says they are not for acrylic or fiberglass rooms and directs checking room-material compatibility. Approval for a head oil well does not establish approval for this different installation.
Have the manufacturer or qualified installer confirm the complete pump, control, steam line and room arrangement. Do not prime an unidentified pump, change its injection connection, omit a required check valve or add oils to the generator's water feed. This is not an owner chemical-feed installation guide.
Keep fragrance use separate from cleaning and safe operation
Fragrance is not a generator descaler or a disinfectant. Keep its approved routine separate from steam-generator maintenance and the steam system's installation requirements. Do not block the steam outlet to hold a scent in the room.
Store the products as labeled and away from children; bathroom chemical precautions still apply. Stop use if the product causes discomfort or the equipment leaks or malfunctions, and obtain appropriate help. A scent does not establish safe steam temperature, correct treatment or any medical benefit.
